The types and specifications of electric blankets
Electric blanket is a collective term for electric quilts, electric mattresses, electric pads, and electric mattress pads. Their main differences are as follows:
From the current market sales classification perspective, they are generally divided into five types:
(1) Ordinary type electric blanket.
(2) Temperature-adjustable type electric blanket.
(3) Constant temperature control type electric blanket.
(4) Low voltage safety type electric blanket (power supply voltage of 24 volts).
(5) Therapeutic special health care type electric blanket.
Among these, the temperature-adjustable type electric blanket is the most common. It includes diode half-wave rectification type, series current-limiting capacitor type, heating wire series-parallel reconnection type, thyristor voltage regulation type, and tapped transformer switching type, etc.
The constant temperature type electric blanket is a relatively high-grade and safer product. It includes "temperature-sensing wire - electronic regulation type" and "bimetallic strip temperature relay type," etc.
Since the heating element - the electric heating wire - is one of the key components, classification can also be made according to different heating elements, which includes:
(1) Plastic-wrapped straight wire heating element.
(2) Plastic-wrapped spiral wire heating element.
(3) Composite electric heating wire with temperature-sensing wire or overheat protection wire.
(4) Semiconductor or conductive film as heating element.
Generally speaking, the latter has better safety performance.
The specifications of electric blankets are generally determined according to the size of heating power, with main specifications being:20 watts, 40 watts, 50 watts, 60 watts, 70 watts, 80 watts, 100 watts, 120 watts, 150 watts, and 200 watts, etc.
However, there are also those expressed by product surface dimensions (length × width). The corresponding relationship between names and dimensional specifications is as follows:
- Double-person electric blanket: Length 140-210 centimeters,Width 110-170 centimeters.
- Single-person electric blanket: Length 140-210 centimeters,Width 70-135 centimeters.
- Electric pad: Length 25-80 centimeters,Width 25-50 centimeters.
